U.S. Treasury Secretary Meets Lebanese Prime Minister, Discusses Iran-Linked Financial Networks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen met with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Finance Minister Youssef Khalil to discuss financial sector reforms in Lebanon. The U.S. Treasury Department stated that the discussions also addressed efforts to disrupt financial networks associated with Iran and Hezbollah, a move seen as a hostile action by the U.S. against the resistance axis. Secretary Yellen encouraged the Lebanese government to take measures to dismantle these financial ties.
