Iraq Resumes Flights Between Najaf and Iran Amid Diplomatic Efforts
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, flights between Najaf and Iranian airports have resumed. This development was reported by Al Jazeera, citing Iraq‘s official state news agency (WAA).
Earlier, Yasser Abdul Zahra Al-Hajjaj, Iraq’s Ambassador to Iran, had confirmed that Najaf International Airport would reopen to Iranian flights within the next 24 hours. Al-Hajjaj told the Iraqi News Agency (WAA) that the Iraqi government, led by Ali Al-Zaidi, is making continuous efforts to restore air travel between the two neighboring countries, Iraq and Iran.
Najaf International Airport is a significant aviation hub in Iraq, annually hosting millions of Iranian pilgrims. Flights between Iran and this airport had been suspended in recent days due to various reasons, including pressure exerted by the United States on Baghdad.
