Trump, facing significant pressure over his energy policies and their impact on oil prices, stated, “We will soon achieve victory in the war with Iran, and gas prices will decrease.” He reiterated previous assertions regarding Iran’s nuclear program, stating, “We prevented Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and Iran will never achieve them; the Iranians know this.”

Separately, a U.S. official speaking to the New York Post alleged that meetings involving Steve Wittekoff, Trump’s special envoy for Middle East affairs, and Jared Kushner, the President’s son-in-law and advisor, through intermediary countries, have led to discussions with Iranian representatives in New York concerning the potential reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
