International Coalition Mission Concludes in Iraq, U.S. Forces Depart

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the mission of the international coalition is officially concluding on Wednesday. Spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Numani, stated in an interview with Al Jazeera of Qatar that American forces have departed Iraq and have relocated to their home country or to bases in neighboring nations. He emphasized that the government’s monopoly on weapons is a fundamental principle and that Baghdad has strived to control armed groups, asserting that there is no justification for the existence of arms outside state institutions. Al-Numani acknowledged groups that had conditioned the handover of weapons on the coalition’s withdrawal, noting that Baghdad respects their perspective. He also announced that three major groups have surrendered all their weapons to the government, and other groups will join the Popular Mobilization Forces under new designations. The spokesperson further indicated that Turkish forces will also withdraw from the Bashiqa region in the next phase.
