US Secretary of State Warns Cuba Against Sticking to Old Ways

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has asserted that the United States hopes Cuba will adopt a “different path.” He further warned that individuals who believe they can simply wait out the end of Donald Trump’s presidency will “learn a hard lesson” if the current course of action is not altered.

These interventionist remarks concerning Havana come as the Trump administration has previously stated its objective to change the Cuban government.

Speaking with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Rubio claimed, “We hope that Cuba will choose a different path.”

He added that Washington hopes “certain individuals” who control the Cuban government will “open their eyes to the reality of the situation they are facing.”

Rubio continued his assertion by stating, “Unfortunately, many of those who continue to chant revolutionary slogans believe they can wait for this administration to end and make no changes or take no action. They are mistaken, and if they do not correct their approach, they will learn a hard lesson.”
