Trump Repeats Baseless Claims Against Iran Amidst Internal Criticism

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, U.S. President Donald Trump has once again engaged in confrontation with Tehran. While the war against Iran has extended beyond a year without yielding any strategic achievements for Washington, the warmongering U.S. President repeated his assertions, claiming: “Iran is in a bad situation and will surrender.” Trump commented on the status of the Strait of Hormuz at a time when the waterway has been closed by Iran, and Tehran has presented a seven-day plan for its reopening through Qatari mediation. Nevertheless, he claimed that Washington has extracted more oil from the strait. On the other side, California Governor Gavin Newsom challenged Trump’s policies, writing on his personal page: “In just seven months, Trump’s reckless warmongering against Iran has imposed over $120 billion in additional fuel costs on the American people.” In this regard, he issued an order suspending the requirement to use gasoline with a summer blend to potentially reduce the inflationary burden of fuel. These contradictions and confusion in the U.S. government’s foreign policy on the eve of the midterm congressional elections have further highlighted Tehran’s deep distrust of Washington, even drawing criticism from some Republicans, including some close associates of J.D. Vance.
