Pakistan Airstrikes Kill 9, Injure 11 in Afghanistan, Taliban Claims

The Taliban government in Afghanistan reported that Pakistani airstrikes on Thursday resulted in nine deaths and eleven injuries, with three homes destroyed in the provinces of Kunar and Helmand, according to official statements.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Taliban government of Afghanistan has announced that Pakistani airstrikes conducted on Thursday have led to nine fatalities and eleven injuries. The attacks reportedly destroyed three residential houses in the provinces of Kunar and Helmand, with women and children among the casualties.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Taliban, described the strikes as an “aggression and crime.” Reuters has stated that it could not independently verify these claims, and the Pakistani army has not yet responded to requests for comment.

The reported airstrikes come at a time of renewed tension and conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, following a period of relative calm of approximately three months. Islamabad has accused the Taliban of harboring militants responsible for cross-border attacks against Pakistan. The Taliban, however, denies these allegations and contends that instability in Pakistan is an internal matter for that country.
