Multiple Explosions Rock Taftanaz Military Airport in Syria

Several powerful explosions of unknown origin were reported at the Taftanaz Military Airport in the Idlib province of Syria on Tuesday morning, occurring amidst reconnaissance flights over the region.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, several intense explosions of unknown origin occurred at the Taftanaz Military Airport in the suburbs of Idlib province on Tuesday morning. Witnesses reported that these explosions coincided with reconnaissance flights conducted over the area. Al Jazeera, citing reports from Mehr News Agency, provided details of the incident. The Syrian Now network released images showing extensive smoke emanating from within the airport, reporting that the explosions took place over a period of one and a half hours. There is also speculation that the explosions may have been caused by residual wartime materials at the Taftanaz airport. This incident follows a series of explosions in northwest Syria last September, including in a military area near Al-Eis in the southern Aleppo countryside.
