Israeli Investigators Believe Flydubai Pilot Acted Alone, CBS Reports

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli investigators reportedly believe that the co-pilot involved in the Flydubai incident acted alone, CBS News has reported, a view that contrasts with earlier statements from the UAE’s attorney general. The UAE’s chief prosecutor had previously indicated that investigations into the Flydubai flight incident suggested the co-pilot intended to carry out a terrorist operation. However, individuals familiar with the case told CBS News on Sunday that Israeli investigators have concluded he acted by himself.
CBS News reported that the pilot, Al-Hammami, briefly worked for Oman Air, where he underwent pilot training. According to informed sources, monitoring by the Omani government revealed that he was visiting extremist websites. Consequently, Oman Air reassigned him to an administrative position.
One of these sources stated that after his transfer to an administrative role, the pilot resigned from his position at Oman Air and left the airline around 2024. Sources also indicated that Al-Hammami at one point shared a video of aircraft belonging to the Israeli airline El Al in Dubai. The video concluded with an image of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of Al-Qaeda, who was allegedly killed in a US drone strike in 2022.
