Russia Warns US of Full-Scale War in Space Over Satellite Disruption

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, has cautioned the United States against actions that could lead to a conflict in space. Medvedev stated via his Telegram channel that disabling Russia’s satellite constellation, known as ‘Rasput’, would signify the onset of a war in space.
Medvedev specifically referenced a proposal by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to disable Russian satellites, warning that such a move would escalate into a full-blown war in the cosmos. He expressed hope that American officials would comprehend the implications of such a decision.
“I hope the Americans understand this,” Medvedev wrote. “Because in that case, their Starlink satellites, which are in low Earth orbit, will fall like toys scattered from a dry Christmas tree.”
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation emphasized the finite nature of space, stating, “Space is a very limited place, and we must respect each other in this space.”
