France Closes Schools Nationwide Amid Student Protests and Political Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French schools are set to close their doors until the end of the week due to ongoing and expanding student protests across the country. This decision comes as the French government grapples with widespread unrest, which has seen hundreds of educational institutions affected.
Amidst the escalating demonstrations, the French Prime Minister has suggested that the far-left is attempting to incite chaos through student protests in anticipation of the upcoming presidential elections. This statement aims to deflect public attention from significant domestic challenges.
The ongoing unrest has led to a substantial number of arrests. French newspaper Le Figaro previously reported that over 6,000 individuals have been detained since the protests began.
The Minister of National Education confirmed on Sunday that between 400 and 500 high schools will continue to operate with partial or complete closures. This follows a week of clashes between riot police and high school students, coinciding with broader national protests concerning the condition of classrooms.
The student protests, which began approximately ten days ago in Parisian suburbs, initially focused on improving educational conditions, addressing teacher shortages, and tackling overcrowded classrooms. The movement has since evolved into a nationwide wave, now encompassing hundreds of school closures, the involvement of university students and teachers, and violent confrontations with police, significantly broadening its scope and impact.
