Trump’s Election-Eve Rhetoric Highlights Contradictions on Iran War

In a speech delivered in Maryland, U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated claims about ending the protracted conflict with Iran, despite stark contradictions with on-the-ground realities and the economic repercussions of Washington’s interventions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump, during a speech in Maryland on Tuesday, once again employed belligerent rhetoric and frequent contradictions to claim that the war of attrition against Iran could be brought to an end. This assertion stands in complete opposition to the realities on the ground and the economic consequences of Washington’s aggressions.

While discussing the construction of a new shipyard in Maryland, Trump falsely claimed victory against Iran, stating, “We have to finish the job. You will find out very soon how it was done.” He further audaciously declared the Strait of Hormuz to be the property of the United States.

The hawkish U.S. president, whose country is grappling with a crisis of rising energy prices and pressure on global markets following its baseless aggressions against Iran, contradicted himself regarding America’s need for Iranian oil, asserting, “Others need Iran’s oil badly, but we are extracting it in unprecedented volume.” He also adopted a demand-driven approach, calling on world leaders to bear the cost of American military actions against Iran.

Trump went on to praise his war tools, claiming that the use of the U.S. military has been solely for the purpose of “peace and goodwill.” He also made an unfounded claim that U.S. airstrikes have ended Iran’s nuclear program, stating, “Our Navy guarantees that Iran will never obtain nuclear weapons.”

Experts believe that Trump’s contradictory behavior and the absence of a consistent strategy toward Iran are among the main weaknesses of this administration’s foreign policy. His approach, a combination of military threats and attempts to frame aggressions as victorious narratives, has only deepened mistrust and confusion in regional dynamics.

Concurrently, these aggressive and unstable behaviors have raised concerns among a segment of Republicans and American political activists, including Trump’s associates like J.D. Vance, regarding the long-term consequences of these conflicts on the economy and upcoming elections.
