Lavrov: Russia Not to Blame for US Succumbing to European Pressure

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on Wednesday that Europe has adopted a complacent approach regarding the resurgence of Nazism in a number of countries. Speaking at the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, Lavrov noted that Russia presented its assessment of the Ukraine issue and appreciated the understanding of the need to address the root cause of the crisis. He further stated that the United States has understood and taken into account Russia’s positions and arguments regarding the trilateral meeting on Ukraine. Lavrov asserted that Russia is not to blame for the United States succumbing to European pressure, particularly from a Europe that “proudly spoke of burying the Anchorage framework,” referring to the meeting between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska.
