Yemeni Forces Advance in Taiz, Multiple Mercenary Brigades Surrender

Yemeni armed forces continue their advance in Taiz province, with reports indicating the complete surrender of several mercenary brigades who have laid down their arms. This development occurs amidst intensified fighting across Yemen, particularly after Saudi-backed forces launched a counteroffensive earlier in the week.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yemeni armed forces are pressing their advance in Taiz province, as reported by Al Mayadeen. Correspondents have noted the full surrender of certain brigades, with their personnel relinquishing their weapons to the Yemeni forces.

These events unfold against a backdrop of weeks of intense conflict in various Yemeni regions. The situation escalated on Sunday following an announcement of a counterattack by forces under Saudi support, aimed at reclaiming territories recently captured by Sanaa-aligned forces.

In September, Sanaa-aligned forces successfully secured full control over Yemen’s western coast, extending to the strategically vital Bab al-Mandab strait, a key artery for oil exports.

Early this morning, Yemeni armed forces targeted Saudi military gatherings and convoys at the ‘Qaw’ah’ camp in the Ras Al-Ara region with multiple ballistic missiles. Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, stated that these direct strikes resulted in numerous casualties and ignited fires in several arms depots.

Concurrently, other Saudi military assemblies in the southern Bab al-Mandab and the areas of Al-Suqiya and Ras Al-Ara were also struck by ballistic missiles, achieving their intended targets and causing dozens of deaths and injuries.

On Wednesday, Brigadier General Saree announced that Yemeni forces had repelled Saudi forces attempting to advance towards their positions east of Al Jawf province. Saree reported that the Yemeni armed forces targeted Saudi troop gatherings with several ballistic missiles and drones, emphasizing that the attacking forces made no territorial gains. He added that these operations led to the deaths and injuries of dozens and the destruction of several Saudi military vehicles.

These strikes are part of a continuous response to Saudi aggression and the direct targeting of civilian infrastructure in the provinces of Sanaa, Saada, Taiz, Hajjah, and Marib.
