Kurdistan Workers’ Party Completes Withdrawal from Turkish Territory

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has announced the complete withdrawal of its forces from Turkish soil, while also criticizing Ankara’s perceived passive stance on the peace process. This development follows recent reports of Turkish intelligence overseeing the PKK’s arms handover in Iraq.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has declared the full withdrawal of all its forces from within Turkish territory. The group, in announcing this move, also voiced criticism regarding what it termed Turkey’s “passive policy concerning the peace process.” This withdrawal occurs amidst recent media reports indicating that Turkey’s intelligence organization will assume responsibility for overseeing the handover of arms by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in Iraq. Earlier, the Turkish Parliament had passed legislation aimed at supporting the peace process with the PKK. The ruling Justice and Development Party had also submitted a bill to parliament to dissolve the PKK.
