Saudi Arabia Faces Waning Missile Reserves Amidst Economic Strain

Saudi Arabia is experiencing a depletion of its interceptor missile stockpiles and faces significant economic challenges, including a widening budget deficit and a downturn in foreign investment, prompting calls from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to maintain political communication channels with Iran.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Wall Street Journal has revealed that the escalating costs of Saudi Arabia‘s military engagements have intensified the kingdom’s budget deficit, pushing Riyadh towards an economic recession.

The ongoing conflict against Yemen is reportedly jeopardizing Saudi Arabia’s efforts to bolster tourism as a critical pillar of its economy. The repercussions of this crisis extend beyond Saudi borders, given the nation’s significant role as a key financial supporter of global technology initiatives.

The Wall Street Journal further indicated that military pressures on Saudi Arabia are intensifying, with parts of the capital city reportedly becoming battlegrounds. Saudi officials have disclosed that the country’s interceptor missile reserves are dwindling in the face of increased aerial assaults. Foreign investment saw a decline in the first and second quarters, falling short of projections. Several of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s projects have been halted, and Riyadh has reportedly set aside plans to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.

The Wall Street Journal emphasized that Saudi Arabia cannot adequately cover its entire territory with air defense systems, forcing a redirection of defenses towards palaces and energy facilities. In response to these mounting pressures, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reportedly instructed his advisors to keep political communication channels with Iran open.
