Israel Seeks US Role in Persuading Saudi Arabia to Join Yemen Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz has reported that the Israeli regime is seeking to leverage the United States to persuade Saudi Arabia to join the conflict against Yemen. The report claims that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is not giving serious consideration to Israeli assistance against Yemen, fearing it could harm his standing with the Saudi public.
A source familiar with the matter, speaking to Haaretz, emphasized that a military intervention by the Israeli regime against Yemen has been entirely rejected due to opposition from bin Salman. Another source indicated that the primary objective is to unify efforts with Saudi Arabia, expand relations with the Saudis, and move towards normalizing ties.
This development follows Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s condemnation on Sunday of what he termed a “successful operation” by Yemeni armed forces targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
