Yemen’s Ansarullah Supports Revolutionary Actions Against Saudi Arabia’s MBS

Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political bureau of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, stated that any revolutionary action against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman within Saudi Arabia would receive support. He indicated that the protracted war in Yemen has become economically unsustainable for Riyadh.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political bureau of Yemen‘s Ansarullah movement, emphasized that the primary driver for Mohammed bin Salman’s aggression against Yemen was his initial belief that the conflict could be concluded swiftly, hence the operation’s name, ‘Decisive Storm.’ However, it soon became apparent that military victory was not achievable. Consequently, in 2017, he shifted his strategy to focus on a different approach.

Al-Bukhaiti further elaborated that in an interview with Saudi journalist Dawood Al-Sharyan, Bin Salman underscored the policy of a ‘long-term war of attrition.’ He asserted that Saudi Arabia possessed the necessary resources and equipment, while Yemen lacked both, compounded by a blockade and the alleged plundering of Yemen’s oil and gas wealth by Saudi Arabia. Bin Salman reportedly questioned why Saudi Arabia should not capitalize on such a perceived advantageous situation.

Al-Bukhaiti clarified that Ansarullah’s military operations targeting Saudi infrastructure are not motivated by revenge or retaliation. Instead, the objective is to convey a clear message to Bin Salman: he can no longer continue the aggression against Yemen from a position of perceived safety. He argued that what Bin Salman terms a ‘long-term war of attrition’ is disadvantageous for Saudi Arabia, as the financial burden of the conflict on the Kingdom far outweighs that on Yemen.

He stated that this provides sufficient leverage to compel Bin Salman to accept Yemen’s just and equitable demands for an end to the war and the lifting of the blockade by both sides. He pointed out that both parties possess the capability to cripple each other’s infrastructure and impose blockades. Therefore, ending the war and lifting the siege has become a mutual interest for Saudi Arabia and Yemen, though the benefit for Saudi Arabia in this regard is reportedly greater.

Despite this, al-Bukhaiti warned that Bin Salman’s obstinacy might lead him to prolong the war, even with its escalating costs for Saudi Arabia, potentially resulting in the destruction of decades of built infrastructure. He stressed that this infrastructure belongs to the people of the Two Holy Mosques, not Bin Salman, and that Ansarullah has no desire for its complete demolition. If Bin Salman insists on continuing this path, he suggested that the people of the Two Holy Mosques should take action, either through a nationwide popular movement, the intervention of Saudi opposition groups like the Islamic Awakening movement, or by the ruling family itself to oust Bin Salman and install another prince from the House of Saud, as his continued rule is no longer in the best interest of Saudi Arabia and its people.

Al-Bukhaiti affirmed Ansarullah’s readiness to fully cooperate with any popular movement within the Two Holy Mosques and any actions undertaken by Saudi opposition groups, particularly the Islamic Awakening movement, noting that tens of thousands of its followers are imprisoned under Bin Salman. He also expressed willingness to collaborate with the ruling family should they decide to remove Bin Salman, thereby preventing the destruction of the Kingdom’s infrastructure, which was built using oil and gas wealth bestowed by God, as well as revenues from Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages.

Al-Bukhaiti further asserted that Bin Salman and the House of Saud did not construct this infrastructure with their personal funds, and indeed, a significant portion of these resources has been misappropriated. He reiterated their commitment to cooperate with a revolutionary movement across the Two Holy Mosques, with Saudi opposition led by the Islamic Awakening movement, or with any internal action within the ruling family aimed at ousting the ‘foolish’ Bin Salman.
