Zelensky and Trump Tension Reaches Unprecedented Levels, Reports The Guardian

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Guardian newspaper has reported an unprecedented level of tension between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump. The escalating friction between Washington and Kyiv began on Friday after President Trump announced an agreement regarding the supply of Russian diesel fuel.
The British media outlet further stated that the dispute between President Zelensky and President Trump intensified at a rapid pace. According to The Guardian, the current disagreement between Zelensky and Trump represents the most serious tension between the parties since their dispute at the White House in February 2025.
The report indicated that on Saturday, President Trump urged Zelensky to cease attacks on Russian oil refineries, stating, “He better stop these attacks as soon as possible.” In response, Zelensky described the announced agreement between Trump and Putin on the supply of Russian diesel as “terrible,” arguing that revenue from fuel sales to Russia helps cover war costs. He also warned that easing sanctions against Moscow could lead to continued Russian attacks on Ukraine.
The Guardian added that the rift between Washington and Kyiv has widened as Trump’s envoys, Steve Wittkopf and Jared Kushner, during peace negotiations in Miami, raised the possibility of the U.S. halting intelligence sharing with Ukraine if the country does not stop its attacks on Russian refineries.
