Iran’s Precision Strikes Disrupt US War Plans, Reuters Investigation Reveals

An in-depth investigation by Reuters has found that Iran and its allied forces have conducted at least 135 drone and missile attacks on 84 critical US infrastructure sites across Persian Gulf nations since February 28, 2026. These strikes have reportedly caused significant physical and economic damage, disrupting the operations of vital facilities.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a comprehensive investigative report by Reuters indicates that Iran and its allied forces have launched a significant number of drone and missile attacks targeting 84 critical US infrastructure sites in Persian Gulf countries since the commencement of hostilities on February 28, 2026. The report states that these assaults have resulted in substantial physical and economic damages, leading to the disruption of operations at several key facilities.

Reuters reported that the targets of these attacks included infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. The identified objectives encompassed oil and gas facilities, airports, pipelines, and strategic equipment associated with American companies. The news agency emphasized that its findings highlight the precision of these strikes and the cascading consequences of damage to essential equipment at major economic centers within the region.

Significant disruptions were reported at oil and gas infrastructure. Reuters specifically cited the targeting of oil transfer and guidance systems in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, a strategic port outside the Strait of Hormuz, which experienced several weeks of operational disruption. Additionally, cooling equipment at Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas facilities in Qatar, crucial for the liquefaction process, was also targeted.

The report further detailed that airports in at least four regional countries were hit, with repeated attacks occurring at airports and oil pipeline pumping stations in Saudi Arabia. The damage sustained by one pumping station and the subsequent impact on two others disrupted oil transportation along an alternative route to the Strait of Hormuz.

The economic and military ramifications of these strikes are considerable. Reuters assessed that the targeted attacks on critical infrastructure have had effects extending beyond direct military damage, impacting economic activities and energy exports. The agency suggested that these strikes have contributed to increasing the economic and strategic costs of the conflict for both the United States and the Israeli regime. The vulnerability of the region’s concentrated and strategic infrastructure, Reuters noted, underscores the limitations in protecting these sites against precision attacks.

In summation, the Reuters report underscores that attacks on critical US-affiliated economic infrastructure have emerged as a significant dimension of the ongoing conflict. This dimension, beyond its military implications, affects energy production and transit, as well as the economic burdens on regional countries and their Western allies.
