France Deploys 70,000 Police Ahead of Nationwide Protests

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, …
The French government has deployed at least 70,000 police officers throughout Paris and other cities in anticipation of nationwide protests scheduled for this Saturday. This deployment comes after the government had previously announced a 20% increase in the use of security forces and the intensification of specific measures.
The General Directorate of National Police in France has requested volunteer trainees nearing the end of their courses to participate in reinforcing security missions. The Directorate claims these trainees will be involved in the protection of buildings and administrative tasks, and will not be directly engaged in crowd control. Military forces, special units, and riot police will also be on high alert.
French officials have imposed restrictions, including nighttime curfews in certain areas, a ban on carrying pyrotechnic materials and protective equipment, and limitations on gatherings in cities such as Paris, Lyon, Nice, and Marseille. The government has also called for organized protests outside the framework of labor unions to be limited.
