Iraq Emphasizes Regional Stability and Government’s Monopoly on War and Peace Decisions

An Iraqi official stated that Baghdad has maintained neutrality since the start of conflicts and has not intervened in any military engagement, underscoring the government’s exclusive authority over decisions regarding war and peace.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qassem Al-Aboudi stated in an interview with Sky News on the sidelines of the ‘Manama Dialogue 2026’ that Baghdad has maintained its neutrality since the outbreak of conflicts and has not participated in any military engagements.

The Iraqi security official also highlighted his country’s commitment to non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations, noting that Baghdad maintains close intelligence cooperation with neighboring countries to prevent any insecurity or border transgressions.
