China Urges Immediate Political Solution and Ceasefire in the Middle East
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during his meeting on Monday with Ali Bagheri, Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, underscored the urgent need for all parties to converge toward a political resolution for the escalating crisis in the Middle East.
Citing an official statement from his ministry, the Chinese foreign minister noted that the conflicts have persisted and expanded beyond regional borders, reminding observers that dialogue and negotiation remain the sole viable pathways to ending these disputes.
The senior Chinese diplomat urged all involved factions to adopt a rational and pragmatic approach, heed their historical and public responsibilities, and pivot their focus toward political solutions rather than resorting to military force.
Furthermore, Wang Yi expressed his country’s readiness to advance initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping aimed at de-escalating regional tensions and engaging with various stakeholders to restore sustainable peace.
Reviewing bilateral ties between Tehran and Beijing, Wang stated that their relations have steadily expanded amidst global fluctuations and transformations, describing the strengthening of bilateral ties as aligned with the mutual interests of both nations and the demands of the Global South.
The Chinese foreign minister further declared his firm support for Iran’s measures to safeguard its national sovereignty and security, pledging that bilateral relations will be further consolidated.
On the other side, Ali Bagheri asserted that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not compromise under any circumstances when it comes to defending its national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
He condemned the military actions carried out by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iranian territory, characterizing the aggression and the assassination of the Supreme Leader and his relatives as unforgettable war crimes.
The Iranian security official also issued a stern warning regarding the consequences of U.S. warmongering and expansionism, emphasizing that fighting against an established civilization is doomed to fail and will severely disrupt the global economic structure.
