Shin Bet Chief Drastically Raises Estimate on Foreign Funding in Israeli Elections

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, David Zini, the head of Israel’s Shin Bet internal security organization, has dramatically revised his assessment regarding the influx of foreign capital into the country’s electoral process, escalating the estimated figure from a mere few hundred thousand shekels to an immense 100 million shekels, equivalent to approximately 31.2 million US dollars.
Avishai Grinzaig, a legal affairs analyst for the Israeli television network i24NEWS, disclosed details surrounding a sensitive investigation into the so-called foreign money injection case aimed at swaying Israeli election outcomes. The ongoing probe highlights the massive volume of capital allegedly deployed by external entities to influence Knesset races.
The legal analyst explained that Zini adjusted his evaluation of the suspicious funds three times within just a few days, presenting varying and contradictory figures over several weeks before settling on the 100 million shekel milestone. Prior to the elections, during a meeting with Noam Solberg, head of the Central Elections Committee, Zini had initially claimed that security apparatuses possessed documents pointing to the transfer of only several hundred thousand shekels to a Knesset member.
Adding to these revelations, Israeli journalist Amit Segal reported during Channel 12’s news broadcast earlier in the week that Zini informed Solberg the total volume of covert funds transferred into the occupied territories had actually reached the 100 million shekel threshold.
