Ukraine Secures Nearly 50 Billion Dollars in G7 Loans Backed by Frozen Russian Assets

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, …
The Ukrainian Ministry of Finance revealed in an official statement that the total volume of loans attracted by the country under the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) mechanism has reached precisely $49.425 billion since 2024. According to data provided by the ministry, these financial resources have been disbursed to support Kiev under the G7 governments’ financial initiative.
The ERA framework was established in 2024 based on an agreement among G7 member states with the objective of allocating nearly $50 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine. Under this program, the repayment of the loans is serviced using surplus profits derived from frozen Russian state assets.
Under this established mechanism, the principal ownership of Moscow’s frozen assets is not directly transferred to Ukraine; instead, only the yields and proceeds generated by them are allocated to settle the financial facilities granted to Kiev.
G7 nations approved the plan to disburse approximately $50 billion in loans to Ukraine via the ERA mechanism during their summit in June 2024 in Italy. This strategic decision was implemented as part of Western efforts to secure essential budgetary funding for Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia. Furthermore, the European Union announced in November 2025 the complete fulfillment of its 18.1 billion euro contribution to this mechanism.
