According to the regional office of Tasnim News Agency, “Khalil al-Rahman Haqqani, Minister of Refugee Affairs of the Taliban government, in a meeting with Shoko Shimozawa, Head of Support and Security of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, said that in the past year, more than one million refugees have returned to Afghanistan.
He added that the Taliban government wants to continue providing humanitarian aid to returning migrants and emphasizes coordination and understanding in the work.
Shimozawa also said in this meeting He shared the problems of Afghan immigrants with the ministries of interior and foreign affairs of Pakistan and suggested that the cards of the immigrants should be renewed and they should not be mistreated. In the past, Pakistan has expelled or forced more than half a million Afghan refugees and migrants to leave the country.
Despite the fact that various institutions and organizations defending human rights have repeatedly asked the Pakistani authorities to stop the forced deportation of Afghan immigrants in the current situation and with the arrival of the cold season, but they have not paid attention to these requests.
According to UN statistics, more than 29 million Afghans (more than half of the country’s population) need humanitarian aid.
