According to Al-Mayadeen, Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of the Hamas movement, said in a statement: “The responsibility for the lack of progress to reach a ceasefire agreement is the responsibility of the Zionist regime.” We will not be satisfied with anything less than the complete cessation of aggression, the withdrawal of the occupying army from Gaza, and the lifting of the oppressive siege.
Hanieh added that creating a prisoner exchange agreement based on which the old prisoners will be released is one of the goals of the negotiations.
In another part of his speech, the head of the political office of the Hamas movement announced that this movement acts responsibly in negotiations and will not ignore the sacrifices and achievements of the resistance. We will use all means to stop the bloodbath that the enemy has launched against our defenseless nation.
In the meantime, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Thursday that it is still possible to reach a ceasefire agreement between Tel Aviv and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
