More than 1.4 million residents of the Gaza Strip are currently seeking refuge in Rafah, which borders Egypt, to escape the war.
The situation in Rafah, where Palestinian refugees are housed in intensive camps, has caused widespread concern in the international community and has even prompted Israel’s allies to issue warnings – at least verbally.
Netanyahu’s office also said that Israel’s war cabinet has agreed to a plan to send humanitarian aid to Gaza in a way that “can prevent looting.” No further explanation has been provided in this regard.
Nearly 30,000 people have lost their lives since the beginning of the war in Gaza. Two thirds of them are women and children. Israel has claimed to have killed 10,000 members of Hamas without providing substantiated evidence.
