UNRWA: The number of children killed in the Gaza war is terrible

Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), said that the number of children killed during the five-month war in Gaza is appalling: “Even During all the wars that have occurred in the world during the last four years, this number of children have not been killed.

According to the morning report of Al-Jazeera, Lazzarini has shared data on his user account on X social media (formerly Twitter) that shows this stunning figure.

According to this data, more than 12,300 children were killed in Gaza between October 2023 and February 2024, while the total number of conflicts that occurred in the world during the last four years (from 2019 to 2023), 12 thousand 193 children have lost their lives.

He went on to say that the comparison between these two numbers reveals the depth of the crime that is going on in Gaza, and emphasized: This war is a war against children and their future.

The aggression and crimes of the occupying Zionist regime continue on the 159th day of the war, when the Ministry of Health of Palestine in Gaza announced that since the beginning of the war against the residents of Gaza, the number of martyrs in this area has reached more than 31 thousand people. According to the ministry’s report, more than 72,000 residents of the Gaza Strip have also been injured during this period.
