A foreign doctor’s account of the unbearable situation of medical centers in Gaza

A foreign doctor who traveled to Gaza gave a shocking account of the terrible condition of hospitals, patients, wounded and medical teams in Gaza.

According to the Al Jazeera English network, a foreign doctor in Gaza reports the unbearable condition of medical centers in Gaza due to the Zionist regime’s obstruction of the entry of medicine and medical equipment there. This foreign doctor based in Gaza says: When I entered the Gaza Strip, they didn’t let me bring anything else with me except a suitcase. I have been here for a month. I tried to come here with a full suitcase, but how much medicine and medical items can you really fit in one suitcase? We have ten patients here who will probably in the next day or two take all the medicine I have in my suitcase. They sacrifice themselves to keep the wounded alive, they have to think about their family members, and they get worried when they hear the sound of the explosion – which is repeated every one or two hours – in the distance. They are here, but their thoughts are with their families. The minds of health care workers are constantly occupied in two places, one is the place where they work, which is the hospital and the job that they consciously choose and consider it their duty, and the second is their family, who live in their own homes and neighborhoods, and they think about each other. Every new wounded person who enters the center may be a member of their own family.
The medicines that we use to stop and control severe bleeding, especially in patients with liver failure, and are considered very vital, have completely run out, so the items that have already been purchased should be used to treat the wounded. And this is despite the fact that the medical teams here have not had access to this equipment for more than three months due to the stoppage of all medical equipment from the Gaza border.
We’ve had multiple roaches in the last 24 hours that survived surgery, survived the initial blast, survived the initial resuscitation, but subsequently died due to infection from the Lack of care supplies and common supplies that should be in every hospital anywhere in the world are taking their toll.
This lady is about 20 years old and has suffered a major concussion. We may be able to take him off the ventilator and he may be able to breathe on his own. We don’t really know if he’ll ever be able to talk again, or wake up and walk again.
This patient is also a five-year-old little girl who was brought here at night. Enduring the explosion and these wounds on his body is not the only end of his road to recovery. Physically, he has to go through minor operations and lung damage and superficial burns and such, but overall and from a public health perspective, this child has seen and experienced things that other children have never experienced. /p>
