China Rejects US ‘Unilateral’ Sanctions on Iran, Vows Action

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, CNN reported that China categorically rejects the “unilateral” sanctions by the United States and has long defended its right to engage in normal trade with partners such as Iran and Russia. The American media outlet stated that Washington is expected to be cautious about escalating a broader economic confrontation that would be detrimental to both nations, especially in the lead-up to the US midterm elections. CNN added that following a press conference by the US Treasury Secretary on Tuesday, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs pledged to utilize “all necessary measures” to safeguard its “legitimate rights and interests” against US sanction threats. Lin Jian, the spokesperson for the ministry, remarked that economic warfare and maximum pressure will not aid in resolving this issue; rather, they will only exacerbate tensions and disputes, create risks of crisis contagion, and disrupt the global economic and financial order.
