A sharp decline in McDonald’s sales

American McDonald's restaurants have faced boycotts and public sanctions after supporting the Israeli army in the war against Gaza.

For the first time in three years, McDonald’s recorded a significant decline in global sales. Global sales fell 1 percent in the second quarter, compared with analysts’ estimates of a 0.5 percent increase, and total revenues rose just 1 percent.

According to a report by the Palestinian Shihab news agency, a slower than expected recovery in China and conflict in West Asia affected McDonald’s business performance. In this regard, unlike last year when McDonald’s sales jumped 14 percent, this year sales decreased by 1. 3 percent is in front.

McDonald’s has suffered from an international boycott campaign since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 and its support for the occupying soldiers. McDonald’s shares rose an adjusted $2.97 in the second quarter, which was less than the expected $3.07.

Economic experts confirmed that McDonald’s was heavily affected by the boycott calls. Bloomberg pointed out that this situation has fueled tensions in the West Asia and increased support for the Palestinians, and many Muslims in the region have changed their consumption habits since the start of the war, which has led to a decrease in demand for fast food.

It is worth noting that supporters of Palestine have long since formed a movement that boycotts companies that support the Zionist regime. This movement has faced an unprecedented reception since the beginning of the Gaza war, and people, especially in Muslim countries, do not buy from companies that have supported the Zionist regime in any way.
