U.S. State Department Spokesperson Claims China Will Soon agree to Trump’s Tariffs on Chinese Goods
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Qatar’s Al Jazeera, Tommy Bruce, a spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, claimed in an interview with Fox News that China is confused by the trade tariffs, and President Trump is resolute to establish trade fairness.
The U.S. State Department spokesperson, referring to recent developments in the trade war between Washington and Beijing, stated that China is currently assessing the situation to determine whether it can survive this predicament.
He further added: China is maneuvering on the issue of tariffs—a field in which it lacks expertise—and ultimately,this situation will work in our favor.The American official also claimed: “Instead of moving swiftly to sign an agreement on customs tariffs, Beijing has doubled down on its response, and this issue is a sign of confusion and a state of panic in China.”
According to Bruce, the United States believes that china will ultimately be forced to return to the negotiating table.
He further asserted in his claims: “Any country with economic interests is eager to sign an agreement with us because the United States is the center of global trade and diplomacy.”
The U.S. State Department spokesperson, citing Trump’s efforts in the American economy, claimed: “President Trump is determined to achieve fair trade, which is exactly what the American people want.”
