Trump Claims Syrian Leader Condemns Attack on U.S. Troops

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, the self-proclaimed leader of Syria, has expressed regret over the recent attack on American forces in Syria. Trump further asserted that al-Jolani claims the attack was not connected to him or the Syrian government.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, commented on the recent attack against U.S. military personnel in Syria, claiming that Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, the self-proclaimed leader of Syria, has expressed profound regret regarding the incident.

Trump stated, “This attack has no connection to him. Al-Jolani is a powerful man, and this attack is not related to the Syrian government.”

Earlier, the self-proclaimed leader of Syria reportedly sent a message of condolence to Donald Trump, condemning the killing of several American soldiers in Palmyra and emphasizing solidarity with the victims’ families.

The attack on American forces occurred during a patrol in the city of Palmyra in central Syria on Saturday, December 13, 2025, resulting in the deaths of two U.S. military personnel and one translator.
