Hamas Urges Increased Palestinian Presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque Amidst Israeli Restrictions

The Hamas movement has condemned Israeli actions restricting Palestinian access to Al-Aqsa Mosque during the first Friday of Ramadan, calling for a greater Palestinian presence to safeguard the holy site. The group asserted that these measures aim to humiliate worshippers and impose a Judaization agenda.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Hamas movement has issued a statement on the first Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, condemning the actions of the Israeli regime in suppressing worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The statement highlighted that occupying Israeli forces prevented Palestinians from entering the mosque, hindering thousands from performing prayers.

Hamas emphasized the necessity of continued popular mobilization and increased presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque to benefit from the blessings of Ramadan and protect the site from the plots of the occupiers and the greed of settlers. The movement stated that the Israeli regime intentionally seeks to humiliate Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque through intensified military actions and continuous transgressions.

These actions include limiting the number of worshippers to approximately ten thousand and imposing arbitrary restrictions on Palestinian entry based on age and various permits. Hamas described these as a clear violation of the freedom of worship and a blatant attempt to impose a Judaization reality at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The statement added that the persistent obstacles by the occupiers and their measures to reduce the number of worshippers will not succeed in breaking the will of the Palestinian people, nor will it deter them from attending the first Qibla of Muslims and the third holiest shrine.

The statement continued: “We call upon all those who have access to Al-Aqsa Mosque to defend it against the escalating dangers surrounding it by attending the mosque.” Hamas also urged the Palestinian people in Jerusalem and the occupied territories to utilize the days of the holy month to thwart the Judaization plots launched by the occupiers and settlers against Islamic holy sites, and to emphasize the inalienable religious and historical right of the Palestinian people concerning Al-Aqsa Mosque.
