Egypt Consults with Iran, Oman, and U.S. on Regional De-escalation

Cairo has engaged in diplomatic discussions with Tehran, Muscat, and Washington, including U.S. Special Representative Steve Woehke, to mitigate regional tensions. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported a call between its foreign minister and the IAEA Director-General, underscoring the need for crisis containment and dialogue.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that its Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, has recently held consultations with the foreign ministers of Iran and Oman, as well as Steve Woehke, the Special Representative of U.S. President Donald Trump. These engagements were aimed at reducing tensions in the region.

Additionally, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry confirmed a telephone conversation between the country’s Foreign Minister and Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). During these discussions, Sameh Shoukry emphasized the necessity of de-escalating tensions, managing the regional crisis, and creating an environment conducive to the continuation of negotiations.
