UK Prime Minister Starmer Warns of War Against Iran’s Economic Impact

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has issued a stark warning regarding the potential economic fallout for the United Kingdom in the event of a war against Iran. Citing data released by the Mehr News Agency, which referenced Sputnik, Starmer highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to analyze and evaluate risks.
Starmer stated that the UK is actively engaging in discussions with its international partners to formulate a unified strategy aimed at mitigating the impact of such a conflict on both the populace and businesses. “The government’s job is to be visibly ahead of events, to look at various issues and work with others,” he remarked, emphasizing that the longer the situation persists, the greater the potential ramifications for the UK’s economy, affecting every individual and every job.
Earlier reporting from the British newspaper The Guardian had also pointed to escalating oil and gas prices, with economists forecasting that a prolonged conflict would necessitate abandoning previous economic growth projections. Lord Jim O’Neill, an economist formerly with Goldman Sachs, had also commented that the White House had not adequately considered the geopolitical dimensions of a conflict with Iran.
