China Warns West Asian Tensions Threaten Global Energy Security

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China‘s Special Envoy for West Asia, Zhai Jun, stated during a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart in Cairo that tensions in the West Asian region are damaging global energy security. He stressed the importance of reducing tensions and utilizing diplomacy to resolve disputes, noting that increased military activities are detrimental to regional development and global energy security, resulting in more casualties.
The Chinese official underscored that the conflict targeting Iran should not overshadow the issue of Palestine. Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry affirmed that rising tensions benefit no party involved in the conflict and called for de-escalation in West Asia. He further stated that the war against Iran must not lead to the marginalization of commitments made for the reconstruction of Gaza.
