Russia Warns of Nuclear Catastrophe Risk from US-Israel Attacks on Iran Facilities

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia‘s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, has cautioned that recent actions by the United States and the Israeli regime targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities are in clear breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
In a message posted on X, Ulyanov stated, “The United States and the Israeli regime continue their attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities. The policymaking bodies of the IAEA have previously described such reckless actions as a violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the Agency’s Statute.”
Ulyanov further emphasized the gravity of the situation, warning, “These actions carry the risk of a nuclear catastrophe.”
The IAEA announced on Saturday that Iran had informed the agency of an attack on the Natanz nuclear site. A statement released by the international body on X indicated that “No increase in radiation levels outside the site has been reported.”
