Lebanese Resistance Engages Israeli Forces in Southern Border Clashes

Israeli forces are intensifying their efforts to advance towards Al-Qozah in southern Lebanon, facing persistent defensive operations from the Lebanese Resistance. Clashes have erupted as Israeli troops attempt to penetrate border villages and deeper into southern Lebanon.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli occupation forces are continuing their attempts to advance towards Al-Qozah in southern Lebanon, while the Resistance is responding with defensive operations. Al-Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that Israeli occupation forces are continuing their attacks on southern Lebanese towns, affecting both border villages and areas deeper within the south.

In recent hours, Israeli soldiers reportedly attempted to advance into the southern town of Al-Qozah under heavy artillery and rocket fire. The correspondent for Al-Mayadeen stated that clashes occurred between occupation soldiers and members of the Islamic Resistance, lasting for over an hour. Hours prior, the occupation forces paved the way for this advance with intense airstrikes on the vicinity of Al-Qozah, including the towns of Rmeish, Beit Lif, and Yater along the border strip.

Al-Mayadeen noted that this is not the first attempt by the occupation forces to advance on this axis. The correspondent explained that occupation forces are trying to advance on several fronts from different border towns, while the Islamic Resistance targets the concentration of occupation forces along the Lebanese-Palestinian border with dozens of defensive operations. The Resistance sometimes targets the same locations more than once, as they are the direct ‘front lines’ on the border, preventing the occupation forces from deploying there or establishing new bases along them.

Meanwhile, retired Brigadier General Charles Abi Nader, a military and strategic affairs analyst for Al-Mayadeen, revealed that there might be a decision to infiltrate border areas to implement the first phase, aiming to reach several kilometers inside the border region. This is evident in the towns of Khiam and Taybeh, in addition to movements near the towns of Markaba and Hula, and the western sector, leading to attempts to enter Al-Qozah. He pointed out that the town of Al-Qozah has witnessed previous attack attempts since the beginning of the current aggression against Lebanon, where occupation forces advanced hundreds of meters and faced strong resistance.

The expert also explained that Israel’s decision to expand operations cannot be confirmed yet, as what is happening is limited to small-scale attempts on a single axis. He noted that if there was a decision to expand, the five Israeli divisions deployed along the border would be carrying out simultaneous operations on multiple axes. This military figure believes that the current developments relate to efforts to reach border towns such as Taybeh, Khiam, Naqoura, Alma al-Shaab, and Al-Qozah, and the coming hours will determine the path of any potential decision to expand.

Abi Nader referred to statements by Yisrael Katz regarding the destruction of border towns, explaining that these statements have been implemented by approximately 90 percent, as the areas of Aita al-Shaab, Adloun, Markaba, and Kfar Kila are now almost completely destroyed.

On the other hand, the Islamic Resistance announced in a statement that its fighters targeted a group of Israeli soldiers stationed in a house in the border town of Al-Qozah with a guided missile at 6:42 AM on Tuesday, achieving a direct hit. As stated in another communiqué, at 7:00 AM, a gathering of enemy Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the border town of Al-Qozah was targeted with missiles.

Hezbollah also announced in another statement: In defense of Lebanon and its people, at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance targeted three Merkava tanks adjacent to Khiam camp with guided missiles, hitting their targets. Hezbollah, in another statement, announced: In defense of Lebanon and its people, at 1:25 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance targeted a Merkava tank on the road leading to the border town of Al-Qozah with a bombing maneuver, hitting the target. The party also revealed that at 12:45 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance targeted an Israeli D9 military bulldozer adjacent to Khiam, which they hit.
