Israeli Official Denies Netanyahu’s Claims of Crossing Litani River

A senior Israeli official has refuted claims made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the crossing of the Litani River in southern Lebanon, stating the remarks pose serious risks to the army on the battlefield.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a senior Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Israeli Broadcasting Authority that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements about Israeli forces crossing the Litani River in southern Lebanon are untrue and place the army in grave danger on the battlefield. The official indicated that Netanyahu’s remarks are primarily part of his electoral campaign strategy. Yesterday, during a visit to the northern occupied territories, Netanyahu had claimed that the Israeli army had successfully crossed the Litani River and secured control over strategic areas north of the river.
