Trump Eyes Diplomatic Solution with Iran, Cites Strait of Hormuz Opening

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States is nearing a ‘very good agreement’ with Iran, preferring a diplomatic solution that could lead to the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for shipping. He indicated that other options would be considered if an acceptable deal isn’t reached.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has once again spoken about diplomacy, asserting that the United States is close to a “very good agreement” with Iran. Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Trump claimed that if a deal deemed acceptable by the U.S. is not achieved, alternative options will be explored.

Trump expressed a preference for a diplomatic resolution, noting that such an agreement could result in the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic. He reiterated longstanding U.S. assertions that the primary focus is preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, a claim Iran consistently denies, stating it does not seek nuclear arms.

The U.S. president also commended Iran’s negotiators, describing them as highly experienced and acknowledging that the process requires time. He conveyed that he is not in a hurry to reach a conclusion, observing that the negotiation process is gradually progressing. Trump concluded by stating that if the negotiations do not yield results, other pathways exist to resolve the situation.
