Israeli Media Express Concern Over Hezbollah’s Advanced Drone Capabilities

Israeli media outlets are raising alarms about Hezbollah’s expanding operational reach and sophisticated drone capabilities, prompting concerns regarding the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli media are expressing apprehension over the prolonged conflict in Lebanon, citing the widening scope of Hezbollah‘s anti-Israeli operations. The Jerusalem Post reported that three years into the conflict with Hezbollah, northern occupied territories remain under fire. The newspaper specified that the Israeli army’s ground operations are confined to the border strip, and aerial attacks have failed to neutralize Hezbollah’s threats against the Israeli regime. Despite pronouncements from Israeli officials regarding Hezbollah’s defeat and disarmament, the group continues its effective armed struggle against Israel. This comes as the Israeli army recently reported the death of one soldier and injuries to four others from a drone attack on Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. Channel 12 of Israeli television announced that Hezbollah has successfully targeted Israeli army forces using explosive-laden drones during nighttime operations. Doron Kadosh, a reporter for the Israeli army radio, stated that the impact of a bomb-carrying drone on the reconnaissance unit of the Givati Brigade at 10:30 PM last night is a ‘very worrying sign’ for the Israeli army. He added that this incident demonstrates Hezbollah’s capability to target Israeli army forces with explosive drones even in complete darkness, suggesting the drones are likely equipped with night vision technology enabling real-time guidance and target acquisition in the dark. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz, quoting Israeli officers, reported a significant sense of frustration within Israeli military circles due to the army’s lack of knowledge about the details of negotiations between the United States and Iran. According to the report, the Israeli army is concerned that as a result of these negotiations, an order to withdraw from Lebanon might be issued while its forces are still under fire. Meanwhile, Israel’s Home Front Command announced last night the activation of air raid sirens in several towns in northern occupied Palestine due to the potential for rocket fire from Lebanon. The Israeli army has urged residents in these areas to take shelter immediately upon hearing the sirens.
