Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Threaten Beirut’s Dahieh, Vow Escalated Operations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz have issued stern warnings targeting Beirut’s Dahieh district and Hezbollah, vowing to intensify operations in southern Lebanon. Katz stated that the Israeli army is moving towards establishing security control over the Litani River region and will continue its attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon, claiming significant gains that degrade the group’s capabilities. He asserted that Israeli forces and cities will not be targeted while Beirut remains calm, and has ordered the army to strike terrorist targets in the southern suburbs of Beirut. Katz described Israel as being in a unique security phase, prepared to confront complex threats on both nearby and distant fronts, warning that “if there is no calm in northern Israel, there will be no calm in Beirut.” Prime Minister Netanyahu echoed these sentiments, stating he has instructed the army to target terrorist sites in Beirut in coordination with the defense minister. He expressed a strong resolve to restore security to residents in the north, mirroring the security provided to those in the south. Netanyahu further claimed that operations in southern Lebanon will be intensified, and Hezbollah will not be permitted to target Israeli cities and citizens, with its headquarters in Beirut’s Dahieh remaining a forbidden zone. These statements come as the Israeli regime continues its extensive ceasefire violations and devastating attacks on southern Lebanon.
