Macron Discusses Iran, Lebanon With Trump, Offers French Support for Regional Security Deal

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Monday that he had engaged in discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the situation in the Middle East (West Asia). Macron expressed appreciation for Trump’s endeavors to secure a rapid agreement between the United States and Iran, describing it as a unique opportunity to establish a new security framework involving all stakeholders to ensure sustainable regional stability.
The French President further elaborated that France is prepared to fully back these efforts and play its complete role in their implementation. He noted that this aligns with the international mission established with the UK and other partners, and that France is ready to deploy forces to help secure maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz once an agreement is finalized. Additionally, France is willing to lend its expertise and capabilities to broader negotiations, particularly concerning the nuclear aspects of any potential deal. Macron also emphasized the importance of a robust ceasefire and collective support for Lebanese authorities.
Macron’s perspective on the West Asian situation and achieving a U.S.-Iran agreement comes as Washington has repeatedly violated the terms of what it terms a ceasefire, and the Israeli regime continues its aggressions against Lebanon.
