US Intervention Halts Planned Israeli Attack on Southern Beirut

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, citing an informed source, claimed that the Israeli regime intended to launch a major offensive on the southern outskirts of Beirut. However, the attack was postponed at the last moment due to U.S. intervention, Al Jazeera reported.
Separately, Al Mayadeen reported that Channel 12 of the Israeli regime stated that a phone call between Netanyahu and Trump postponed the decision-making regarding an attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut amidst efforts to achieve a new ceasefire.
In a related development, Seyed Abbas Araghchi previously wrote on social media that an “all-encompassing ceasefire” between Iran and the United States would, without any ambiguity, be considered a ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon. He stressed that any violation of this ceasefire on any front would be considered a violation on all fronts, and that the United States and Israel would be held responsible for the consequences of any breach.
Major General Pilot Ali Abdollahi, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, announced hours earlier that Netanyahu, in continuation of his regional aggressions, had threatened to bomb Dahiya and Beirut and had issued evacuation warnings to its residents. He cautioned that given the regime’s repeated violations of the ceasefire, if this threat were to be carried out, residents of the northern sectors and military settlements in the occupied territories should leave the area if they wished to avoid harm.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran described the repeated ceasefire violations in Lebanon, the continued displacement of Lebanese citizens, and the political and military support of the United States for the actions of the Israeli regime as concerning. He called for the international community to play an effective role in halting this trend.
