Trump Deems Netanyahu’s Beirut Bombing Threat Unacceptable, Reports Allege

Former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly found Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threats to bomb Beirut unacceptable, prompting a reconsideration of planned strikes, according to American media citing officials.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Axios, an American news outlet, cited a U.S. official stating that former President Donald Trump assessed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threats to bomb Beirut as exceeding acceptable limits. The Israeli prime minister had reportedly threatened to target the Lebanese capital.

The outlet also reported, quoting a Zionist official, that anticipated attacks against Beirut had been canceled and would not proceed. This development follows intense diplomatic engagement.

Meanwhile, a Qatari diplomatic source informed Al Jazeera that Qatari officials had initiated mediation efforts on Sunday to help stabilize a ceasefire in Lebanon. The source indicated that Doha began engaging with the American side last Sunday to pave the way for de-escalation in southern Lebanon.

According to the source, Qatar resumed its consultations on Monday following Israel’s warning of an attack on the southern suburb of Beirut, actively working to prevent the execution of such a strike. The Qatari diplomatic official further announced that Washington informed the Qatari side, after Trump’s contact with Netanyahu, that the planned assaults on the southern suburb of Beirut had been called off.
