France Condemns Israeli Occupation of Lebanon, Calls for UN Action

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, France‘s Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized in a statement that no justification exists for the prolonged occupation of Lebanon by the Israeli regime. This statement was reported by the Mehr News Agency, citing Al-Nusra.
An emergency session of the United Nations Security Council, convened at France’s request, nearly unanimously urged the Israeli regime to withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon and refrain from escalating tensions in the country. This call comes amid ongoing attacks by the Israeli army against Lebanon and continued violations of the ceasefire.
During the Security Council session, the most severe criticisms of the Israeli regime were voiced by the representatives of France, the United Kingdom, Russia, and China, all permanent members of the Council.
