UAE Newspaper: Washington Not Neutral Mediator in Lebanon Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Al Khaleej newspaper has asserted that Washington is not a neutral mediator in the escalating tensions with Lebanon, even as the Israeli regime’s aggressions intensify and extend beyond the Litani River and the occupation of the Shqif Castle.
The newspaper emphasized that it is evident Washington is not a neutral mediator, as Lebanon has received only empty promises while Israel enjoys political and military support from the United States. The report suggests that calls for a ceasefire in Lebanon are being made without addressing the necessity of the Israeli regime’s withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territories, despite the regime having demonstrated its irresponsibility and violation of all ceasefire agreements and Resolution 1701.
Western and regional media outlets are attempting to downplay Iran’s threats against the United States and the Israeli regime concerning repeated violations of the Islamabad ceasefire agreement. They claim that the mediation efforts of Donald Trump led to the cessation of the Israeli regime’s plan to bombard Dahiya and Beirut. However, some Israeli media outlets acknowledge that Trump, after signaling approval for an attack on Dahiya and Beirut, was compelled to abandon this war plan under pressure and threats from Iran.
