US Announces New Round of Lebanon-Israel Talks Amid Ongoing Clashes

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. Department of State announced that delegations from Lebanon and the Israeli regime have held the fourth round of direct talks at the department’s headquarters, with Washington’s support and mediation. The ministry’s statement indicated that these discussions are proceeding along both political and security tracks, claiming continued progress in these areas and announcing that a new round of negotiations is scheduled for Wednesday.
Lebanese sources have emphasized that the Lebanese delegation stressed the necessity of achieving a complete and comprehensive ceasefire in Lebanon at the outset of the talks. The fourth round of direct negotiations between Lebanon and the Israeli regime commenced on Tuesday afternoon, Beirut time, at the U.S. Department of State headquarters.
These discussions are taking place while the Israeli regime’s attacks on Lebanon persist, with various regions in the south of the country being targeted. These attacks have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of civilians. In this context, many observers believe that any political process can only yield genuine results if the Israeli regime’s aggressions cease and Lebanon’s full sovereignty over its territory is guaranteed.
